Climate Tip | Beyond the Pumpkin Decor

October 11, 2022
How-to

As the days get shorter, you might be thinking of fall decor. When planning your decorations for the season considering purchasing pumpkins and other gourds from your local farm stand.

If you’re carving your pumpkin don’t let the insides go to waste. The seeds can be roasted and the pulp turned into muffins, soups, and more. Check out our Quail Hill Farm E-news recipes compilation for a Pumpkin Seed Brittle recipe (page 62).

Give your decorations a second chance as compost. Perhaps the pumpkin on your porch today will help grow your produce of the summer. For tips read our blog post, Compost and Soil Health.
