Meet Our Staff | Leslie Salmeron
By Leslie Salmeron
Hello, everyone. My name is Leslie, and I am the Marketing and Communications Assistant here at the Trust.
Growing up, I remember taking a stroll through Terrell River County Park with my parents and spending our summer days running up and down the jetties at Meschutt Beach. Even now that I am older, I still find myself going back to the Quogue Wildlife Refuge Center (pictured above) to catch a breath of fresh air. I always knew I wanted to be involved in protecting our environment, but never really knew what I could do to help, that was until I found the Peconic Land Trust!
My journey with the Trust started only six months ago, after graduating from Stony Brook University with a degree in Business Administration specializing in marketing. Although it hasn’t been long, I’ve learned more about Long Island in these six months than I have being here my whole life. I know many people like me have grown up here, not realizing how unique Long Island is and all it has to offer. Working at the Trust, I can do just that, spread our conservation work to the public and interact with our communities to get them more involved.

I am proud and excited to be part of a team of motivated and passionate individuals looking to make a change for good. This is our little paradise, and we must protect it at all costs for us and future generations and I am happy to be a part of that change. I look forward to meeting all of you at future connection programs!
