I feel privileged to have joined such a reputable, long-standing organization right here on Long Island. I spent most of my career working for national and international conglomerates not headquartered in New York. I grew up in Western Suffolk and commuted to Manhattan for over 20 years. I had opportunities to relocate with work, but I didn’t want to leave Long Island’s beaches, parks, and its overall allure that has given me a strong sense of community and pride. Taking a boat or ferry to Fire Island and passing under the Robert Moses Causeway is one of my favorite views on the Great South Bay.

There is no place I’d rather be in the summer than Long Island, boating, sunning, biking, or walking around enjoying all the sights. Although I lived my whole life here and had gone to the East End dozens of times, I had not known about the Peconic Land Trust or that Long Island had the most productive farmland in New York with many legacy farms at risk of non-farm development until I joined the Trust.

Leaving the for-profit world to become a part of conserving Long Island’s working farms, natural lands, and resources felt destined to be the next chapter in my leadership career. I’m excited to help execute and enhance the Trust’s Mapping the Future strategy, From 40 … to Forever.
