Every year the Long Island Business News hosts the Real Estate, Architecture & Engineering Awards to honor those in the commercial real estate community. For the first time, a land preservation sale was recognized this year. A huge round of applause for Julie Wesnofske (center), Senior Project Manager, for her work on the Broad Cove preservation sale. She was recognized at the awards ceremony this past June.

Broad Cove, a nearly 100-acre waterfront parcel on Flanders Bay, was purchased by the Trust on December 31, 2021. For decades a top conservation priority on the East End, the property had been sought after by conservationists and developers alike. Thanks to Julie’s tremendous work and your support, the site will continue to provide climate change resiliency, wildlife habitat, and water quality protection in the Peconic Bay Estuary.
