Water Quality

We’re one step closer to returning the Georgica Pond Preserve to nature. Last month demolition of the former restaurant building on the corner of Montauk Highway and Wainscott Stone Road began.

This is the first step in the Trust’s planned habitat restoration of the site. Once the buildings are removed and the necessary permits from the Town are received, the Trust will restore the property with new native plantings, including Bayberry, Eastern Red Cedar, and native grasses. This will hopefully take place throughout the summer and fall.
