Through Farms & Fields
Each year, the Peconic Land Trust hosts the beloved Through Farms & Fields country supper to celebrate our local bounty, and this year promises to be especially delightful! We would be thrilled to have you join us for this joyful occasion, where your presence will highlight our shared commitment to preserving Long Island’s working farms, natural landscapes, and rich heritage for generations to come.
This year, we're excited to gather at Krupski Farms in Peconic, graciously hosted by the Krupski family. The 2025 Through Farms & Fields is scheduled for
Sunday, August 3, at 4:00 p.m.
Join us as we honor the legacy of Anne and Tom Hubbard along with friends Albert J. Krupski, Jr. and Timothy J. Caufield.
The funds raised from Through Farms & Fields support the Trust’s mission to conserve Long Island’s working farms, natural lands, and heritage for our communities now and in the future.
About our Honorees:
At this year’s event, we proudly honor the remarkable legacy of Anne and Tom Hubbard, who were not only dear friends of the Trust but also passionate advocates for our mission. While Anne and Tom are no longer with us, their commitment and passion for conservation and farming will live on for generations to come. Their generous support in protecting over 100 acres in the Town of Southold is a lasting gift to our community and now home to our Agricultural Center at Charnews Farm, a symbol of their commitment to conservation. We are honored that their son David will be joining us for this special celebration.
We also will celebrate Albert J. Krupski, Jr.and Timothy J. Caufield, who worked closely with Anne and Tom to conserve farmland for future generations.
Of particular note, in 2014 Al and Mary Krupski completed a remarkable like-kind exchange that added 19 acres to our Agricultural Center at Charnews Farm, enhancing sustainable farming practices in our region. As Al wisely noted, “Like-kind exchanges among farm operations strengthen our community’s agricultural viability. The Trust's work at the Agricultural Center is essential for both current and aspiring farmers, ensuring they have access to contiguous farmland that fosters growth.”
Additionally, we will recognize our esteemed former colleague and friend, Tim Caufield, whose 31-year tenure at the Trust greatly advanced our conservation efforts. Over the years, Tim worked closely with the Hubbards and the Krupskis, along with many on the North Fork, to preserve the agricultural and natural heritage. His leadership in our Planning department through critical land transactions has left an indelible mark, and we are grateful for his continued support.
