Through Farms and Fields

Through Farms and Fields celebrates the local bounty of the East End – from the amazing salad greens, vegetables, herbs and fruits from local farms, to the fresh fish from our shores and livestock raised on our fields, to the wonderful wines of our vineyards.

On August 6, 2017, the Peconic Land Trust hosted its 15th “Through Farms and Fields” Benefit, a Country Supper at Whitecap Farm in Water Mill, honoring the conservation dedication of Kathleen King.

As the founder of Tate’s Bake Shop, Kathleen and her beloved chocolate chip cookies have become household words, essential ingredients at gatherings and celebrations on the East End and beyond, having expanded worldwide with a little bit of Southampton reaching far and wide.

Starting at the age of 11 in the kitchen of her family’s home at North Sea Farms, Kathleen’s cookies, brownies and more were introduced at the family’s farm stand in the early-1970s – with her parents, Richard and Millie, proudly looking on. Kathleen is the definition of perseverance and quality – building a successful business and providing unwavering support to the East End community through many charitable endeavors – and we are thankful to her support of the Peconic Land Trust in so many ways, continuing a family tradition that started with her parents. The King family has supported the Trust from the beginning.

We thank everyone who joined us for this special evening and ask that you Save the Date: Sunday, August 5, 2018 for the 16th Annual Through Farms and Fields. We will be announcing the location and honoree in the upcoming months.
