Please join us for a garden walk with ecological artist Lillian Ball through a uniquely natural landscape surrounding this “house on stilts.” Learn how Ms. Ball and the property owners worked together to remove invasive plants and enhance this 15-acre property organically by adding perennials and grasses native to the Northeastern U.S. The landscape now requires fewer resources to flourish and restores local wildlife habitat and ecosystem functionality. The five rain gardens created early in the project hold storm water as it soaks the plantings, reducing runoff and erosion, and provide the perfect environment for native plants to thrive.
