Join us as we team up with Peconic Baykeeper for an afternoon of hands-on marine discovery in Shinnecock Bay, recently recognized as the East End’s own “Global Hope Spot” in recognition of its resiliency and diversity. In addition to seining for typical native species, you may also find exotic juvenile tropical fish carried north by the Gulf Stream. Estuary ecology and local conservation efforts will also be discussed. Please dress for the weather and wear protective footwear that may get wet. A portable toilet is onsite.
Free! Suitable for ages 15+. Space is limited, reservations required. Town beach parking permit available for the duration of the program. Rain cancels.
