The Waterfront has a long and storied history as a busy port, including as the first U.S. submarine base. When, over a 30-year period, the property was repeatedly targeted by developers for outsized projects, the community rallied and the New Suffolk Waterfront Fund (NSWF) was born. Come hear the story of how the people of New Suffolk worked together with Peconic Land Trust to save their waterfront. Enjoy a lively conversation between the Trust’s President John v.H. Halsey, founding Board Member of the Waterfront Fund Joe McKay, and former NSWF Chair Barbara Schnitzler, moderated by NSWF Chair Patricia Lowry.

Space is limited, reservations required, refreshments will be provided. Rain or shine.

We're celebrating the Peconic Land Trust's 40th anniversary in 2023! Themed "40 for 40," our Connections activities will bring you to 40 special places whose conservation has had an impact.
