"Grow native plants" has become a rallying cry among horticulturalists, organic farmers, and those who are climate aware, but many people may not understand why their presence in the home landscape is so critical. We'll talk about the food that is provided to wildlife and pollinators from native plants, their lower impact on the environment, and offer a variety of suggestions for attractive trees, shrubs, perennials and grasses that will look good in East End gardens.

The panel includes:
Rick Bogusch, Director of Bridge Gardens,
Brian Smith, V.P. of LI Native Plant Initiative, and
John Witzenbocker, Owner/beekeeper of Sag Harbor Honey.
Moderated by Jessica Damiano, contributing garden writer for Newsday
