Early May is the peak migration season to view a wide variety of birds as they migrate to and through Long Island to their northern breeding grounds. Led by local birder MaryLaura Lamont you'll walk the woodland trail past farms and fields to the upper meadow near the beech/oak forest. We will see many neotropical species such as vireos, grosbeaks, warblers, thrush as well as sparrows, woodpeckers, and hawks. Bring binoculars, wear sturdy shoes. A clear, flat, mulched trail gradually slopes up as we approach the forest bluffs along Long Island Sound.
