This workshop will engage farmers, environmental activists, workers from all parts of the food chain, students in the public humanities, land donors and community stakeholders who will come together to give voice to the personal stories that will help inform the creation of new solutions for a verdant, sustainable, and just use of our natural and human resources, wind, water, and land. Participants will be charged with helping to plan and roll-out popup events at farmers markets, community gardens, in front of food stores and at beaches.

This program will be held weekly on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. Community members can come once or twice, to tell a particular story that needs to be told. Or continue week after week to shape stories for readings, web publications, or book length projects.

To bring you this program, the Trust is collaborating with Herstory Writers Workshop, Mama Farm, Humanities Institute of Stony Brook University, Canio’s Books, Suffolk County’s Office of Women’s Services, OLA of Eastern Long Island, Students for Climate Action, and Long Beach Latino.
