Peconic Land Trust's Director of Conservation Planning Melanie Cirillo and Project Manager Holly Sanford have been invited to talk about conservation and community participation at an upcoming program with the Mattituck-Laurel Civic Association. The meeting is open to the public and will be on Zoom, on Monday, October 26 beginning at 6:30 pm.

Melanie and Holly will give an overview of how the Trust works with communities, discuss past and current projects in the communities of Mattituck and Laurel, and how conservation and stewardship of farmland, woodlands, wetlands, and shorelines is providing for fresh local food, healthier bays and ponds, and trails and open spaces to explore. Melanie and Holly will be joined by Melissa Spiro, Land Preservation Coordinator for Southold Town.
