Landscape Alternatives to Protect Coastal Ponds
Our coastal ponds are home to a myriad of flora and fauna but many have become polluted. From road runoff due to heavy rains, to improper landscape practices, to invasive plants, toxins are filtering into these beautiful natural areas causing dangerous algal blooms. You can help! Join us for a conversation with Matt Daly of MGD Horticulture and Dr. Bruce Horwith, a natural resource scientist and advisor to the Trust, to learn what you can do to create landscape buffers that help filter toxins from our wetlands. Learn about the transformations happening at Trust properties adjoining Georgica Pond and Sagg Pond and get tips on things you can do to make a difference.
Free! Space is limited, reservations required. Rain cancels.
We're celebrating the Peconic Land Trust's 40th anniversary in 2023! Themed "40 for 40," our Connections activities will bring you to 40 special places whose conservation has had an impact.
