Guided Exploration of Hallockville and Beyond

Saturday, November 02, 2019
10:00am – 12:00pm

Hallockville Museum Farm
6038 Sound Ave
Riverhead NY 11901

Please join us for a guided walk around this historic farm and up to the trails of Hallock State Park, led by local historian Richard Wines and local birder Nancy Gilbert. With a focus on the beginnings of Hallock Farm, through the Defense of the Eagle, to today’s recently opened Hallock State Park, there’s much to learn. Along the way, hear of the successful, cooperative effort that resulted in the conservation of this 525-acre landscape. We’ll explore the geology, flora and fauna of the site and look for birds of prey and late migrants along the way. Bring your birding scope or binoculars, and wear sturdy shoes.

Program is co-sponsored by Peconic Land Trust and Hallockville Museum Farm. Rain cancels
