Community Open House at Sylvester Manor
Sylvester Manor’s doors are wide open – come and explore! Visit the historic house, grounds and gardens and learn about the past, present and future of the Manor. Take a self-guided tour of the Manor house to view the 2019 exhibition “All That Has Been: Our Roots Revealed,” featuring artifacts excavated from the 243-acre property. Enjoy a guided walk through the old growth forest, reflect at the Burying Ground of the Colored People and the Quaker Cemetery, and meet members of the Shinnecock Nation to see their traditional wigwam, erected for the day.
