June is a good month to view breeding birds. Meet expert birder Tom Damiani of North Fork Audubon and explore the trails where you may see prairie warbler, scarlet tanager, Baltimore oriole plus a variety of waterbirds like snowy egret and great blue heron. The Preserve is part of a 118-acre collection of properties, created through the cooperative efforts of the Peconic Land Trust, Southold Town, Suffolk County, and numerous landowners and partner organizations including the Oysterponds Historical Society. Bring binoculars or birding scope; closed-toed shoes and tick protection strongly recommended.
Free! Space is limited, reservations required. Rain cancels.
