Join naturalist Mike Bottini for a leisurely paddle on Big Fresh Pond in Elliston Park, North Sea as we look for a variety of wildlife, including the scent station of the river otter, and signs of the seasonal change from spring to summer. Mid-June is the peak of the egg laying period for a variety of turtle species that reside in and adjacent to the pond (stinkpot, painted, snapping and box turtles), and we will visit one of the turtle nesting areas there. Don’t forget your binoculars for birding.
Bring your own kayak or canoe for $10 per person. Town parking passes available for duration of this event. Rain cancels.
