Pollinators Thriving in Eastport Farm Fields!

October 1, 2018
Farms for the Future

In early September, the Trust’s Land Steward, Brendan Minogue, prepped — plowed, disc’d and packed — the fields of the Raynor Dibble Preserve for a new, nutritious clover field.

The preserve is home to bees from beekeepers Sag Harbor Honey and Bonac Bees… and we are pretty excited to have them call our preserve home. Supporting local pollinators is one of the most important activities we do. Helping bees who face tremendous stress is good for the environment and provides us with so much!

The next time you bite into a juicy peach or experience the delicious snap of an apple thank both your farmer and these fuzzy creatures.
