NEW: Request for Proposals Issued for 19.2 Acres of Farmland in Southold

Farmland, located on the corner of Route 48 and Young's Avenue, will include additional restrictions for food production.

The Peconic Land Trust has issued of a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the sale of 19.2 acres of farmland in Southold, formerly owned by the Krupski family.

The farmland, which includes farm structures, is located on the northeast corner of Route 48 and Youngs Avenue. The Trust acquired the property in March of 2014. At that time, the farmland was already protected with a Town of Southold Development Rights Easement.

The Trust will sell the property subject to an enhanced easement for food farming restrictions and is subject to the requirement that the purchaser be a qualified farmer.
Responses to the RFP are required to be submitted by Friday, October 18, 2019 at 5:00 pm.
