Tackle Food Waste by Creating Your Own Vermiculture System!

You’ll need:

  • 14-18 gallon Rubbermaid storage bin
  • 1 medium sized bag of peat moss
  • 1 5lb bag of small gravel
  • about 10 pages of newspaper
  • 1 bag of wood shavings
  • 250 Red wrigglers (We ordered from Uncle Jim’s Worm Farm)
  • spray bottle with clean water
  • electric screwdriver or a screwdriver and mallet to create air holes in the bin

Get your supplies ready, and then follow our video, featuring local environmental artist Scott Bluedorn, as he shares the simple steps to creating your own composter using worms. Worms efficiently break down organic matter, creating rich compost for your garden!
