Farms for the Future

Since 2016 the Peconic Land Trust has been working with the Sisters of St. Joseph in Brentwood to conserve their land. A major component of that work has been turning lawn space into agricultural land.

The partnership has been highlighted in the recently released Faithlands Toolkit. Dan Heston, Director of Agricultural Programs and Kim Quarty, Director of Planning were interviewed for the toolkit. They described the steps the Sisters have taken to provide green spaces and agricultural land for their community.
