Climate Tip | Report Water Pollution

July 24, 2023
Water Quality

Help our partner, Peconic Baykeeper (PBK) look out for pollution across the Peconic and South Shore Estuaries by using the PBK Pollution Reporter! This is a short survey anyone can fill out to report incidents of pollution occurring in and around waterways including marine debris, fish kills, sewage spills, and unauthorized waste disposal. Within the survey, users will pinpoint exactly where the pollution occurred using an interactive map.

Real-time pollution reports are necessary to help Peconic Baykeeper and the proper authorities respond to issues, however it is a non-emergency tool. Over time, the data collected can be used to encourage calls-to-action in response to pollution patterns and their long-term effects on the marine environment.

To access the survey, go to the Peconic Baykeeper website and find it under the tab ‘Get Involved’.
