2019 Quail Hill Farm Crew: Meet Alexandra Kaindl
Hi East End:
My name is Al, and I arrived mid-March from California. Daisy, my 1-yr old cattle/shepherd pup also joined me in my move out east. She is my number one side-kick and the best companion I could ask for, who also loves belly rubs :).
I feel so grateful to have found myself at Quail Hill Farm this season and immediately felt at home.
Farming is truly the only thing I can imagine myself doing and receiving mentorship under Layton and Scott is such an honorable opportunity in my farming career.

My journey to farming all started in the kitchen. Cooking has been my favorite thing to do for as long as I can remember, and my first true passion in life. After realizing being a cook at a high-end restaurant in San Francisco was not for me, I took gardening & farming much more seriously. Waking up early with the sun, and cooking communal meals with friends & family is my favorite way to enjoy the bounty from the fields. I do hope to start my own farm someday, so that I may be able to take care of my mom and provide sensational products for my community.
This season I am most excited about the young & passionate farming community out here, working on a farm that is so deeply engaged with the CSA community, learning tractor skills, and refining my flower farming knowledge (only to name a few!).
I can’t forget about all that homemade tomato sauce just around the corner, too! Thank you all so much for such a warm welcome. I look forward to meeting more of you out in the fields and hopefully sharing meals and stories together.
